The Lutheran East Side Mission was started so that the Lord and his gifts would be available to ALL people, especially those who live in Davenport's urban east side neighborhoods.  The Lutheran East Side Mission exists because God "desires all to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth." (1 Timothy 2:4)
.

The LESM is supported by member congregations of the Davenport (IA) Circuit of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, by financial and service gifts from other Lutheran congregations and individuals, and by financial and service grants from various organizations.

The member congregations of the Davenport Circuit are St. Paul, Bennett; Our Savior, Bettendorf; Park View Lutheran, Park View/Eldridge; and Holy Cross, Immanuel, Risen Christ, and Trinity, all in Davenport.

On a lighter note and changing the direction about housecleaning, as you finish up your spring cleaning please keep the Mission families in mind when you donate unwanted household items, clothing, shoes and toys. If you no longer need or want it we humbly accept almost anything including gently used bedding, linens and dishes. We will gladly pick up the donations at your convenience.

If you would like to know more about volunteering at Lutheran East Side Mission please contact our office at

May you enjoy the beauty of the summer and all God’s gifts.

NEEDS FOR THE MISSION

We continue to need helpers and particularly male mentors for the young boys who attend our After School Program.   Volunteering at the mission is an opportunity to exercise your faith and be a role model for people who need to see how a Christian lives and cares for others.

The pantry could always use some canned fruit, and canned meat and paper products.

We would also appreciate any members of Davenport Circuit congregations willing to serve on our Mission Board.
